Electric garbage trucks will be a new growth point? Which truck enterprises in the layout?

Imagine, five years from now, all you see on the road will be electric cars?

Optimists might think so, but Marketwatch financial expert Francois Mallette doesn't. "Most of the passenger cars around will still run on gasoline, but there's a good chance that other common special-purpose vehicles will all be electric. Trucks, school buses, fire trucks, garbage trucks."


Besides Rivian, Nikola, a maker of electric trucks, has attracted customers, including Republic Waste Management, which has ordered 2,500 units electric garbage trucks of them.


Byd, Mack, Volvo and Mercedes-benz parent Daimler have all launched or are planning to market electric garbage trucks, underscoring the strong demand for electrification in this segment.

Rivian, a representative of electric trucks, saw its share price hit $179.47 on its fifth trading day after listing, but it is still up 53.55% for the year despite a sharp correction.
